International pressure is building-up on China to come clean on spread of CoronaVirus which allegedly emanated from a lab in Wuhan, China.

After the United States and Australia  –  now Japan has also joined-in the chorus asking no.1 question of the day – did China knowingly or otherwise – spread the Covid19 virus.

Late on Friday night, prime minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe said that “Japan will call for an investigation into the World Health Organization’s initial response to the CoronaVirus pandemic”.

“With the European Union, (Japan) will propose that a fair, independent and comprehensive verification be conducted,” the Japanese PM said.

He was participating in a virtual Q&A session on the internet late on Friday night (according to IST).

He said the proposal will be made at the WHO’s General Assembly meeting scheduled to begin from 18 May, Monday.

Due to COVID19 pandemic, no one is traveling to WHO’s HQ in Geneva for this all important annual fixture.

Beginning Monday, the two-day session will be held as a ‘virtual assembly meeting’.

Japan along with the US, the EU and Australia have been pressing for an independent probe into the initial response from China particularly at the beginning of the outbreak of pandemic

The WHO has been charged by the United States and others for going ‘soft’ on China by withholding vital information on the spread of COVUD19 virus from Wuhan.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also called for an investigation into the origin of the COVID19 virus.

In retaliation to this China has already announced plans to impose tariffs on imports of Australian barley.

While the US has suspended aid to WHO, major European countries including that of France, Germany and Britain have extended their support to it.

In fact the French President, Emmanuel Macron has made public statements in support of Director General of the WHO in ‘controlling the pandemic spread’.
