The 12th edition of multilateral naval exercise MILAN 2024 has started at Visakhapatnam. Warships from 50 different navies are taking part ion this year’s naval exercise.
The Eastern Naval command also known as the SUNRISE COMMAND based at Visakhapatnam is hosting Milan24
The multilateral MILAN exercise hosted by the India Navy is held once every two years.
In the last edition of Milan held in 2022, ships from 39 counties took part.
The ambitious exercise MILAN was started in 1995 with a modest beginning at Andaman Islands. In 1995 navies of Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand participated in the first edition of naval exercise
The Harbour Phase of Milan24 will last till 23rd February while the Sea Phase of Milan24 is from 24-27 February.
