Flying non-stop for 37 hours, American B-2 bombers were used earlier today to bomb three nuclear facilities in Iran escalating the conflict in the Middle East region.
The US attack on Iran took place in the early hours on Sunday the 22nd June 2025.
US reports suggested that navy submarines were also used in the region to fire sea-launched missiles at targets inside Iran.
In a brief White House statement made before the television cameras the US President Donald Trump said that the United States has completed attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran, including “Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan.”
“All planes are now outside of Iran airspace. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow,” he later said on the social platform Truth Social.
The US President reiterated his demand that Tehran must agree to “end this war,” after the air strikes.
Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency acknowledged attacks on the country’s nuclear facilities.
An Iranian state television commentator said that “you started it and we will end it,” according to a CNN report.
Trump isn’t planning additional U.S. strikes on Iran and wants to “propel Tehran back to negotiations,” the CNN was reporting on its channel.
Earlier media reports appearing on CBS News said that the United States reached out to Iran diplomatically Saturday to say the strikes are all the U.S. plans and that regime change efforts are not planned.
Trump’s decision to intervene directly in support of Israel’s attempt to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program marks a historic escalation in the Middle East, local media said.
The intervention may provoke retaliation from Tehran against U.S. troops and military installations across the region.
It should be noted that the U.S. air raids on Iran came on the ninth day after Israel launched attacks on Iran on earlier on 13th of June 2025.
