Within hours after freed veterans of the Indian Navy had landed at the IGI Airport in New Delhi, it was announced that Prime Minister will be visiting Qatar on his way back from UAE on 14th of February 2024.

Narendra Modi will personally thank Emir of Qatar to release jailed ex-navy men who were given death sentence.

Eight navy veterans had found themselves trapped in an alleged espionage case. They were jailed by a Qatar court in October 2022.

The Prime Minister will embark on a pre-scheduled two day visit to the UAE on Tuesday the 13th of February.

While in Abu Dhabi UAE, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a big Hindu temple foundation of which he had laid in 2019.

In the afternoon of 14th February, the Prime Minister he will reach Doha to meet Emir of Qatar.

Briefing media on Monday, the Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said PM Modi had personally supervised the handling of the case to free the Indians arrested in Qatar.

Over 8.4 lakh Indians live in Qatar. “The two leaders will look at deepening bilateral ties,” Mr Kwatra added.
