Prime Minister Narendra Modi late on Sunday night the 4th of April night held an interesting telephonic conversation with the prime minister of Israel Mr Naftali Bennett.

Bennett was supposed to be Delhi now but for coronavirus infection forcing him to cancel his New Delhi visit at the eleventh hour.

Modi enquired after his health and wished him speedy recovery.

The two leaders discussed recent global developments, including the situation in Ukraine and the Iranian nuclear issue, and said they looked forward to an early meeting.

Later in the day, Modi said in a tweet: “Was happy to speak with PM @naftalibennett and to know that he is recovering well. We discussed recent global events, and also reviewed India-Israel cooperation in various areas.

“I look forward to welcoming him in India very soon to continue our discussions.”

The Israeli PM in a tweet replied: “It was great speaking to you my friend, @NarendraModi ”I look forward to seeing you soon!”

The Israeli PM had to postpone his trip to India, that was scheduled from April 3-5, after testing positive for the coronavirus.

According to a statement from the Israeli PM’s office, Bennett thanked Modi for condemning the recent deadly terror attacks in Israel.
