Late on Friday night the 6th of May, 2022, various news reports stated that India has given much needed humanitarian aid to Ukraine which chiefly included life saving medicines and equipment.

Photographs appeared in social media that the newly-appointed Indian Ambassador to Kyiv Harsh Kumar Jain on Friday handed over 7,725 kg of humanitarian aid comprising essential medicines and medical equipment to Oleksii Yaremenko, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine.

On Thursday, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN TS Tirumurti had stated in the UN Security Council that India has been sending medical supplies and relief material to Ukraine and its neighbours.

On May the 2nd, 2022, Harsh Kumar Jain had met the deputy minister for foreign affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Senik and presented his credentials of appointment as the India’s new envoy to Ukraine.
