India has welcomed the Trump-Putin summit meeting that was held in Alaska on Saturday the 16th of August 2025 in an attempt to resolve the ongoing Ukraine conflict

In an official statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India stated that it – ‘welcomes the Summit meeting in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia. Their leadership in the pursuit of peace is highly commendable.

The statement added that  – ‘India appreciates the progress made in the Summit. The way forward can only be through dialogue and diplomacy. The world wants to see an early end to the conflict in Ukraine.’

The Alaska summit titled as ‘pursuing peace’ concluded without any agreement to end the Russia-Ukraine war. However, both the leaders, Donald Trump and Vladmir Putin decided to continue the dialogue searching for an early end to the nasty conflict in Europe.

After Trump reached back at the White House media reports emanating from the Washington DC suggests that Ukraine’s leader Zelensky will be meeting Donald Trump in his Oval Office on Monday on 17th of August 2025.
