India has christened the entire evacuation process from Kabul as “Operation DEVI SHAKTI”.

Till Tuesday afternoon, 24 August 2021, about 800 Indian citizens and others have been successfully evacuated from the troubled Afghanistan’s capital city, Kabul.

While announcing Operation Devi Shakti in a Tweet, the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, today 78 evacuees arrived safely.

A special Air India flight from Tajik city of Dushanbe had landed at the Delhi’s IGI Terminal 3 which also brought three Guru Granth Sahibs from three different Gurudwaras in Afghanistan.

Ever since Air India started operating from Dushanbe, evacuation from Kabul has picked-up speed.

All civilians air crafts can flyover Pakistan airspace from Tajikistan cutting down valuable flying time instead of a C-17 Globemaster  military flight taking a longer route via over Iran and possibly requiring refueling along the flight path.
