India and China have agreed to the re-opening of border trade through three designated trading points, namely Lipulekh Pass, Shipki La Pass and Nathu La Pass.
This decision along with a slew of steps were taken during two-day official visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visit to India.
In a detailed release issued by the MEA it was stated that new working groups have been created with the existing mechanism to improve border management at the Kine of Actual Control (LAC).
There does not exist an International Border as defined by various Vienna Conventions on borders between two nations – however there exist a Line of Actual Control between India and China.
