The Prime Minister of Fiji Sitiveni Rabuka is in Delhi.

On Monday the 25th of August 2025, the PM Narendra Modi and Mr Sitiveni Rabuka held wide-ranging & productive talks at Hyderabad House in the National Capital on Monday the 25th of August 2025.

Discussions covered strengthening ties in defence, trade, healthcare, agriculture, mobility, people-to-people ties, & advancing a shared vision for a resilient and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

Both leaders witnessed exchange of MoUs in areas including heathcare, capacity building, mobility, standardization, ICET and business cooperation. PM Modi also welcomed in IPOI forum as a member country.

The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X:

“Welcoming an important Global South and FIPIC partner. “PM @narendramodi received PM Sitiveni Rabuka @slrabuka of Fiji at Hyderabad House for delegation level talks.”

Earlier in the morning, the Fijian PM paid floral tributes at the Raj Ghat.

The Fijian PM arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a three-day visit, accompanied by his wife, Sulueti Rabuka, and a high-level Fijian delegation that includes the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu, and senior government officials.

The Figian PM also met President Droupadi Murmu later in the day. It may be recalled that President Murmu had visited Fiji in August 2024.

On Tuesday the 26th of August 2025, the Fijian PM will deliver a keynote address on his vision for the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace” at the Indian Council of World Affairs.

He is also expected to explore opportunities to enhance cultural and economic linkages between the two nations.

This is the first visit to India by Prime Minister Rabuka in his present capacity.

Prime Minister Rabuka’s visit underscores the longstanding and enduring ties between India and Fiji. It reaffirms the continued commitment of both countries to further strengthen the bilateral relationship across all sectors and deepen our close people-to-people ties, the MEA said in a statement.
